*You Don’t Owe the Universe Rent*

Lately, I’ve noticed how many people are on a mission to “find their purpose.”
As if the only way to earn a good life here on Earth is to prove to the cosmos that they deserve it.That somehow living out your purpose is the rent you pay for being alive.

I don’t believe that. Not even for a second.

We are not cosmic interns here to justify our existence.
We are souls having a human experience—gloriously imperfect, wildly curious, and meant to feel the whole messy range of life.

The joy. The heartbreak. The ordinary Tuesdays. The moments when you burn the toast and the ones where your heart nearly bursts from beauty.

Of course, if you feel a driving passion to serve humanity, to create, to heal, to build something meaningful—brava! Go for it. That’s grace in motion. But it’s not a requirement.

You don’t have to save the world to deserve your morning cappuccino, your favorite playlist, or your next great adventure.

It’s absolutely okay—no, it’s sacred—to enjoy the beauty of the world:
art, music, laughter, long dinners, belly laughs, deep friendships, fresh sheets, ritual, travel, movies that make you sob, books that make you believe again, and food that tastes like love.

As Anthony Bourdain once said:

“Your body is not a temple. It’s a f*cking amusement park. Enjoy the ride.”

So maybe the purpose of life isn’t to find it.

Maybe it’s to live it.

To taste, touch, and feel it all.

To be here, fully human—alive to every delicious, devastating, divine moment.

Because my loves… that’s more than enough.

Arielle

P.S. Know someone trying a little too hard to “find their purpose”? Forward this. Remind them they can just be.
